So this weekend was actually in the 40’s and sunny! It was so refreshing to see the sun and be able to be outside. So Caleb and I got Miles bundled and packed all the stuff required to go out with a baby and headed out the nature preserve. The only problem was that it was so muddy from the melting snow that we couldn’t take the stroller on the paths. Instead we walked through the neighborhood and found Peterson Park. This is a park that is not too far from our home and we had never known about it. It was beautiful and quiet. The best part was the pond that had a rock garden with waterfall. Miles loved the ducks. He was so desperate to get on the snowy, muddy ground to “get” them. I had to hold on tights so he wouldn’t squirm away.

I think we will be visiting this park again to see the ducks in coming months. I only wish we could feed them…there is a no feeding the animals sign. (We saw about 10 deer run past us too…lots of wildlife in the park)

Anyway, enjoy the photos. (Miles is 11 months here. He is standing by himself but not walking yet. He has 2.5 teeth and the sweetest personality of any baby.)

Miles Evan is 11 months old today!

Miles has an obsession. Books. We are pretty excited about it since we are both big readers. He will flip through books (mostly his board books because the pages are easy to turn) for 30 mins by himself. He looks at books when he is in the backseat of the car as we drive. He looks at his books on the changing table when we are changing his diaper. (That is the life) We have also been spending more time reading to him, however he really prefers to be sitting on the floor with a book by himself. He reads at his own pace.

On another note, he got a new tooth last night. The top right tooth FINALLY has made its appearance. It has been a long time coming and came in with a vengeance last night. Poor baby was in pain. We made a late night run to Walgreens to get baby orajel which did the trick. He ended up sleeping fine after his little mouth was numb. (tooth number 3 at exactly 11 months).

The big birthday is coming up next month! I can’t believe we are about to be the parents of a one year old. What a year.

More coming soon. Keep checking back.

Milo came over to play with Miles last weekend. It has been so fun to see them growing together…although Milo is growing a little faster than Miles. Here they are enjoying eating cereal off Katie’s knees.

They are 10 months there.
